Cheese, bacon & onwards!
SJB Foods is led by father and son team, Stephen and James Berisford (pictured). For over 150 years, the Berisford family have been dedicated to the foodservice industry, beginning with Samuel and William Berisford in 1852. Together they established a modest grocery store and pharmacy in Manchester. (You'll now find us near to Exeter).

Our family then ventured into importing sugar and tinned produce, marking the early stage of the Berisford presence in the foodservice industry.
Steady growth, solid values.
SJB's success and investment since means we have now expanded to almost 20,000 square foot of chilled, freezer and ambient space, including meat and cheese processing facilities. In 2024 we grew even further again, with the launch of our extensive non-food range and our purchase of a new ambient warehouse.
We also celebrated our new partnership with Fairway Foodservice, enabling us to pass the benefits of their resources and buying power directly onto our customers, through added value, additional expertise and extended range.

Our strong family values remain unchanged though and we take pride in the fact that our customers regularly cite these as the reason for their loyalty and trust in SJB Foods.
